Mindfulness can be defined as a conscious awareness of everything as it exists in the present moment with the acknowledgement and acceptance that everything you are experiencing will pass. This basic philosophy which underpins mindfulness is best served as a way of life rather than simply a practice, however in order to become proficient at mindfulness it is essential you become mindful of the need to be mindful. In order to achieve this higher state of conscious awareness it is helpful to learn mindfulness through a range of practices which can be taken, developed and incorporated into your daily life as a new improved alternative way of being that is more conducive to your well-being.

The purpose of these different sessions is to hone your skills of increased self-awareness across all aspects of your life and to develop the ability to self-regulate emotions both good and bad as you experience them in your present moment.

Summary of Sessions

Mindfulness Based Lifestyle Program (MBLP) consists of 8 unique tailored sessions approximately one hour long each which specifically address different themes commonly associated with mental distress, issues of fear and sadness, problematic ways of thinking and behaving as well as general well-being . Although each session can stand alone they are designed to fit together as a program with a narrative which has the purpose of achieving increased self-awareness and ability to self-regulate emotions as well as a greater sense of general well-being with the confidence and self-belief to affect meaningful lasting change.The sessions will require your focused attention and engagement, therefore it is strongly advisable to keep a pen and paper at hand or even keep a journal as you progress through the program.
